A recent post in the Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy discusses that when treating muscular skeletal disorders it is always important to consider the body as a whole. More often than not when we see patients presenting with a chronic condition it is almost always connected to another major system in the body. Studies have shown the central nervous system plays a major role in overall healing. Just as a finger cannot work independently from the hand, our muscular skeletal system shouldn’t be expected to work independently from our central nervous system.
What are your thoughts on this regarding both acute and chronic conditions? Do you think one works with or without the others? Leave your comments and thoughts below!
