It’s always a great idea to keep learning, and podcasts offer Physical Therapists an opportunity to pick up new knowledge in their free time. And what better place to invest an hour in learning about something new than in your car? Just imagine how quickly your commute will drift by as you listen to the sage (and sometimes entertaining) words of physical therapy experts? You never know — you may just start looking forward to getting stuck in traffic!
The 10 Most Popular Podcasts for Physical Therapists

Research Updates:
- Journal of the APTA. Looking to brush up on recent research studies, debates on important issues for physical therapists, or just get a run-through of a particular edition of the journal? You’ll be able to stay abreast of what’s new in the world of PT by tuning into the APTA’s series of podcasts, which include developing PT topics, as well as the Craikcast — where Editor in Chief Rebecca Craik reviews the journal, month by month.
- PT Inquest. Described as an “online journal club,” PT Inquest includes 79 episodes (and counting), with a new scholarly article reviewed and discussed each week. Most recent topics include: Predicting Pain After Shoulder Surgery, Using LP-PRP for Osteoarthritis, and Predicting Hamstring Injuries.

On the Lighter Side

- The NAF Physio Podcast. A podcast that promises to be like no other, this series is purposely quirky and covers topics that “matter, but don’t really matter.” Speakers debate, ask questions and converse about various topics related to physical therapy. Warning: explicit content.
- Move Forward Radio. Created by the APTA, Move Forward Radio highlights interviews with physical therapists and other experts in the healthcare world. These podcasts focus on discussing public interest topics. The most recent podcasts include: Multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, physical therapy for basketball athletes, and acute care physical therapy.
